Penzance 400 - an exhibition at Penlee House Gallery and Museum from March 29th until June 7th.
The historic town of Penzance gained its Charter of Incorporation in May 1614, and this exhibition celebrates the 400th anniversary by exploring the changing face of Penzance through its long and fascinating history. Using paintings, photographs and artefacts, the show explores quirky facets of our fascinating municipality, from its earliest origins to significant events in living memory. The exhibition also celebrates the 200th anniversary of the Royal Cornwall Geological Society, central to which was Sir Humphrey Davy.
